Mysterious
Eyes
I
saw yours yesterday
Was
surprised to see demons lurking there
You,
Turned
the other way
So
terrified that one may slip out
and
show its twisted head
allowing
me to see
a
part of you
you
hid so well
I
should have mentioned this but I didn’t
Wanted
you to be my friend
I
saw angels there as well
Supervisors
of the light
You
hoped I was seeing
when
cautiously your eyes met mine
again
and again
Yet
mysterious lies you continued to tell
And
as careless words escaped your lips
I
saw the truth disappear
Into
a hole so deep
It
sent shivers
Down
My
Spine
Into
MY
OWN
HOLE.
Holes…
Long,
dark tunnels
never-ending
deeper
every day
“Why
do you stare at me?”
I
heard you say
I
guess I like mysterious eyes
I am
fascinated by holes
Especially
yours
mnemonic,
ghostly,
pleasures
only I can see
and
feel
then
later wonder about
when
my eyes refuse to close
during
those bewitching midnight hours
when
I cannot sleep
hopeful
that your patient angels
will
force the truth upon you
I
hold my hands before my face
and
I pray
I
pray that you tell it
Are
you ready for today?
Another
hour in the hole?
Were
you prepared for yesterday?
When
my mysterious eyes met your own
I
wish I could prepare you for the ride
The
mysterious flight
That
often leads to nowhere
but sometimes with a little effort
Takes
you to the bridge of hope
You
know the bridge
I know
you do
The
one most people avoid
because
lies are easier than the truth
Forward
steps are stairs
backward
steps a slide
they
feel like an easy ride
but
they are torture
I
guess it’s really up to you
Who
do you want to be?
Do
you want to be led by angels?
And
feel free?
I
saw you again today
Down
the hole you went again
Demons
your only friend
TOO BAD!
